Video Blog on Why I am not Running the Honolulu Marathon

Aloha All,

I recorded this video for you yesterday morning but due to technical hiccups....it took me until today to post. And as odd at it may sound, I am at peace and have slept better the past couple of nights than I have in a LONG time. And....I just got a very gracious offer from the Maui Oceanfront Marathon for FREE entry into his race this coming January!!!!

I referenced a blog post in the video. This is it: When Fear Sets In

Daily Gratitude: I am thankful for God's peace.

Daily Bible Verse: Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. ~ Habakkuk 3:17-18

  1. Wow, Erica! I don't even know what to say. What an emotional journey you've been on. I'm glad your daughter is okay and that you are at peace. There are times in life when we need to listen to that Voice, even when we don't understand.

I'm praying that all goes well at the marathon - we are in town, I'll be spectating and my husband will be on the wheelchair cycling escort team.

    Much Aloha!

    1. Now we can spectate together and perhaps I will be able to see the cycling escort team! Those in the wheelchair race ALWAYS inspire me! Perhaps I should wear my I RUN4 TOBY bright yellow top to make myself visible. :)

    2. My plan is to be at the corner of Ala Moana and Hobron (in front of the Ilikai) to see the wheelers, then the elites come through. From there I'll make my way down to the fountain at Kapiolani park, that is where the cyclists peel off before their wheelers cross the finish line. I'll hang out there to see the elites come through. I'll look for your I RUN 4 TOBY shirt!

Let's chat!
