I had a furlough day from work yesterday, which means, I had over eight "free" hours and should have time to do it all! Thing is, I still felt rushed to get to the gym, get some running in and move the aches out the leg. Next step, darling daughter's school Halloween parade. Time with dear hubby. A bit of grocery shopping, Making lunches. Making dinner. Getting ready for trick-or-treating. Trick-or-treating. Getting darling daughter to bed and oh my....exhaustion! That wonderful blog post I hoped to write never happened as there just wasn't enough time!
Making recovery real.
Remember that impromptu "recovery" week I took a couple of weeks ago? I may have cut back mileage a smidgeon but didn't continue to build. I honestly don't think that did recovery true justice and am taking a take two this week. Sunday's long hilly run made my legs hurt and they are still getting all nice and fresh again. I am not in excruciating pain but my legs ache. Dear hubby has massaged. I have "rested" as much as I can but now, I am just going to take it easy this week and have fun running. I need to cut back some miles this week so I can continue to build and race to my best in December.
Keeping eats as good as I can.
I must confess, I have a sweet tooth but fortunately running has curbed that some for me over time. I just don't enjoy the sugary treats as much as usual but still love the occasional indulgence every now and then. But I also love other foods just as much! Here is some yummies I enjoy.
Oatmeal with papaya
Nachos my way!
Pumpkin...more to come!
